North Torrey Pines Living & Learning Neighborhood (NTPLLN)
North Torrey Pines Living & Learning Neighborhood (NTPLLN), a new mixed use community at UC San Diego, will become the home of Sixth College and offer new instruction and research space for departments and programs within the Divisions of Social Sciences and Arts/Humanities. Construction began in the summer of 2018 and is anticipated to complete Fall of 2020. “The North Torrey Pines Living and Learning Neighborhood is a fundamental component in the transformation of the UC San Diego campus into a live, learn, play community,” said Chancellor Pradeep K. Khosla. “It’s an extraordinary venture that will enhance our students’ experience, providing them with a truly dynamic environment in which they can thrive.”
Sited on 10-acres with views of the Pacific Ocean, NTPLLN will bring a professional live, learn, play design to a college campus. The project includes 6 above-ground buildings (ranging from 2 to 14 stories), 3 levels of underground parking, inclusive of 1,200 new parking stalls, and 2,000 beds. Providing student housing, support space for undergraduate students, general assignment classrooms, residential life space for students and staff, and ancillary maintenance and operational support space. Retail venues will line the Ridge Walk, an open promenade, as well as Housing Dining & Hospitality operated markets and dining facilities. A Craft Center offering students, faculty, staff and local community members unique opportunities to connect, create and collaborate. All while maintaining the highest level of sustainability, NTPLLN is seeking to achieve a LEED Platinum ranking.
Prior to construction, Intelisyn worked closely with UC San Diego and the Design Build Team to socialize the project on campus while coordinating site logistics and construction impacts. Once construction began, Intelisyn was brought on full time to continue the site logistics effort, work with UC San Diego Marketing to maintain website content, coordinate the procurement of all furniture, fixtures, and equipment, help manage the build-out of six retail venues, coordinate with Housing, Dining, and Hospitality to outfit equipment in the new Craft Center, and help facilitate Pull-Planning sessions with UC San Diego stakeholders.
