Santa Barbara Museum of Art
The Santa Barbara Museum of Art is embarking on a long term project for upgrading and expanding their existing 60,000 sf facility. The project will include seismic strengthening, upgrade of HVAC systems, improved layout and wayfinding, enhanced accessibility and the addition of 9500 sf of floor space within the existing building footprint. A new pavilion, garden and terrace area will be added on the existing roof.
The sustainable design will utilize geothermal energy and will include fuel cells for electric power. The improvements will confirm to LEED standards.
In order to keep the museum open during the construction process, the project will be divided into multiple phases with construction anticipated to begin in 2016. Intelisyn is currently providing preconstruction services on this $33 million project.
