Digital Radiology Projects

The Digital Radiology Projects were a group of 180 distinct projects at 7 Kaiser Permanente Medical Centers and Medical Office Buildings.  Diagnostic imaging functions were upgraded from older film based systems to the latest digital systems.  These projects not only required the replacement of the diagnostic equipment and related processing equipment, new reading rooms were added to accommodate specialized monitors and workstations for radiologists and physicians to review and analyze the digital images.

In order to accommodate the additional volume of digital information, the data networks of the facilities required significant upgrades.  Those expansions not only required new and/or upgraded network servers, for many installations the footprint of the existing data rooms were also increased.
