Healthcare Award of Merit: Cedars-Sinai Advanced Health Sciences Pavilion

1.5.15Cedars-Sinai’s Advanced Health Sciences Pavilion has received Engineering New Record’s Healthcare Award of Merit. Intelisyn provided project/construction management services from predesign through occupancy.

The 820,000-sq-ft building includes three levels below grade and 11 floors above grade.

A partnering, design-assist approach and building information modeling helped the team contend with a dense urban site at the largest freestanding hospital in the Western U.S. With its curved double-glass facade, the pavilion acts as a gateway to Cedars-Sinai’s sprawling hospital campus and unites outpatient care, research and teaching into one location to stimulate collaboration, spur innovation and improve patient outcomes. A simulation laboratory provides teaching and research space. Imaging services, surgery and education programs are located in the 820,000-sq-ft building, which comprises three levels below grade and 11 floors above grade. Two pedestrian bridges connect to the main hospital, and two floors are raw space for future fit-out.
